Overview
Director of Partnerships & Communications at Two Wheels for Life. Two Wheels for Life supports transport for healthcare programmes in four African countries; The Gambia, Nigeria, Malawi and Lesotho, delivered by Riders for Health. We are the official charity of MotoGP with events, auctions and fundraising activities, and we seek a media manager to lead social media, press and PR to maximise exposure, raise awareness and drive fundraising.
We are a small, hard-working team seeking someone with vision, energy and established skills in a similar position. The role reports to the head of communications and partnerships.
Responsibilities
* Planning – Manage social media channels with an advance schedule across multiple platforms, work with the team to plan visibility for coming months and respond to reactive needs.
* Support the head of communications to deliver the communications strategy.
* Maintain regular contact with the Two Wheels team to align fundraising activity, communications and PR with campaigns.
* Keep the media activities calendar up to date and inform the team about campaigns and media activities.
* Share media schedule with Dorna Sports for MotoGP-focused promotions where appropriate.
* Build and manage a press database and relationships with press organisations and key influencers in the motorcycle industry.
* Creation – Develop creative approaches for fundraising campaigns using graphics and video; stay up to date with PR and social media trends; create social media content, MotoGP press kits, newsletters and press releases; source photos and create or outsource graphics and video.
* Relationship building and collaboration – Build and manage relationships with press, motorcycle organisations and influencers; develop social conversations.
* Reporting – Report campaign metrics and insights to inform future work.
Requirements
* Enthusiastic about our mission and the role.
* Interest in the work across Africa and why it is important.
* Experience in a similar PR/social media/communications role for 3+ years.
* Self-motivated with ability to drive own workload and work remotely.
* Excellent written English with ability to write engaging, grammatically correct copy and adapt copy for different audiences.
* Experience of social media planning with calendars and scheduling tools.
* High level proficiency in Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp or similar, plus CMS systems.
* Digital photo editing and optimization skills.
* Ability to build and manage a press database and relationships at all levels.
Nice to have
* Experience producing graphics for social media and video content.
* Working knowledge and contacts in motorsport or related fields.
* Experience with not-for-profit work and sourcing creative work at charity rates; ability to use data to inform work and report back.
* Ability and willingness to travel outside the UK for work.
Specifics
* Remote/home working with meetings and events around the UK.
* 25 days holiday.
* Salary 35–40k depending on experience.
* Some essential weekend work, especially over the summer.
* Flexible working hours; open to part-time (pro rata) or job share.
