Description
A Consents Co-ordinator is being sought to join the Asset Management team at Merseyrail. The successful candidate will lead the management of all critical aspects of consents and permissions required for asset projects and facilities initiatives. This role will primarily focus on the Landlord Consent process, conduct Diversity Impact Assessments (where practicable), and oversee meticulous documentation management - which is essential for project execution. Transferable expertise will ensure that all compliance standards are met.
A key accountability of the role will be to support the Head of Network Development by providing necessary information and documentation for the Landlord Consent license to alter legal obligations. The successful candidate will utilise their expertise to address additional approvals and consents required for work on the Merseyrail network and across the wider city region.
This new role will involve collaboration with various departments across the business, with a particular emphasis on managing an increasing workload from different business areas. There will be an opportunity to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, enhancing consent management processes. The successful candidate will prioritise applications and ensure that efforts are directed where they are needed most.
As the primary support for the Asset Management team, the Consents Coordinator will play an integral role in streamlining consent applications that enable the project delivery team to carry out key works throughout the network and city regions.
Key Responsibilities
* Consents management: Responsible for facilitating Landlord Consent requirements and permits for construction projects/facilities initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, permits, and licenses. This may involve coordination with consultants who may be delivering these on our behalf.
* Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, consultants, and local authorities to facilitate constructive dialogue, address concerns, and obtain necessary approvals in a timely manner.
* Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of consents/permits and related documentation. Prepare comprehensive reports to support project documentation and compliance requirements.
* Risk assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential barriers to obtaining consents/permits and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively.
* Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, streamline consent management processes, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
* Team collaboration: Communicate with multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge, provide guidance on consent-related matters, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.

* Proven experience in managing consents and permit applications for projects.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
* Experience of working within a railway organisation.
