About the role:
You will drive a lorry from our fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old, equipped with high-spec features such as fridges and leather seats for your comfort. Most sites operate Monday to Friday with 45-hour weeks and 9-hour shifts starting around 7/8 am. Our organized schedules often let you know your route in advance, reducing stress.
This role offers job security within a growing global business. We operate a busy fleet, providing consistent work and opportunities for additional hours, with enhanced rates for bank holidays and night shifts (10 pm-6 am). Key Role Responsibilities
1. We trust our drivers to plan their routes; the average stops per shift are 4 to 6, ensuring time to enjoy the open road and be home after each 9-hour shift.
2. Ensure timely delivery and collection of cages, pallets, freight, stillages, and Yorks. Some sites load/unload for you; others require self-loading. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks may be part of your day.
3. Inspect your vehicle and trailer daily, completing defect reports if needed.
4. Ensure customer satisfaction by working efficiently and communicating effectively, passing queries to the Site Manager promptly.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Class 1 Driving license
* Driver CPC qualification card
* Completed required CPC training hours or working towards them
* Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and a commitment to road safety
* A ‘can do’ attitude
