FJA are recruiting on behalf of aleading service provider in the Water and Waste Water Infrastructure sectors for experienced Surveyors. This in an amazing opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to join their growing field team. You will be working in and around Cumbria.
The Surveyor will assume a largely site based role undertaking surveys using specialist GPS equipment. Completing up-front surveys, hazard surveys, access surveys, technical surveys, as-built surveys and schedule of condition reports for private land entry.

The Surveyor role:
To assist, manage and co-ordinate tasks in pre-tender, investigation, design, construction and completion stages
You will ensure your work is carried out in a productive and timely manner, maintaining a focus on minimising risk in all functions of Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality aspects
Have a focus on good customer service and creating long lasting relationships with clients
Ensure up front survey drawings accurately reflect any Health and safety issues and environment issues in relation to the work to be delivered
Ensure As-built surveys accurately reflect the works that has been completed on site and carried out in a timely manner
Liaise with land owners and occupiers prior to land entry and carry out schedule of conditions
Surveyor responsibilities:
Complete a full site survey report including drawings and environmental risk assessment including all the information stated for use by design
Ensure photographic records are captured and labelled identifying all areas of the works throughout the process
Ensure 100% compliance with all CDM, Health & Safety, and environmental issues
Complete tasks in line with current corporate systems, documentation and controls that comply with legislation on a company and industry standard
Ensure tasks are complete within programme
Liaise internally with departments, client and third parties
To perform any other tasks as required by the Designer, Design Lead, Design Manager or Senior Management to the Northern contracts
Identify any key risks and relay these to the lead on that scheme/project
Surveyor required skills and experience:
Be aware of risks, both safety and Environmental
Aware of construction techniques
NRSWA preferable
Knowledge of surveying techniques
Basic knowledge of using MS Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
Ability to demonstrate an initiative to work on their own and as part of a team
Have good attention to detail and be health and safety aware
