Your new company
We are partnering with a well established organisation in Milton Keynes seeking a Temporary General Ledger Assistant to support their finance function during a particularly busy period. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and gain valuable exposure within a respected organisation.

Your new role
As the General Ledger Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Responsibilities will include:
Assisting with monthly general ledger postings and reconciliations
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
Processing expenses, national statistics and one bill process
Preparing journals including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications
Investigating discrepancies and resolving ledger issues in a timely manner
Assisting with audit queries and providing supporting information
Working closely with the wider finance team to improve processes
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a similar finance or general ledger role
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
High attention to detail with a methodical approach
Good Excel skills (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs beneficial)
Ability to work to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
A proactive attitude and willingness to support the team where needed
