As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investments Bank Payments Engineering team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and implement cutting‑edge software solutions that address the evolving needs of the financial industry, pushing the boundaries of technology.
* Collaborate with architects and other engineers to design robust, scalable, and secure payment systems that meet both current and future demands.
* Ensure that all software solutions adhere to complex regulatory requirements, maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver integrated and seamless payment solutions.
* Contribute to the development of payment solutions that empower businesses and individuals worldwide, facilitating efficient and reliable money movement across borders.
* Create secure and high‑quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
* Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
* Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies, adding to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Extensive experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go, with a strong understanding of software development principles.
* Hands‑on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Some experience with cloud technologies and microservices architecture.
* Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
* Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
* Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for innovation.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Familiarity with modern front‑end technologies.
* Exposure to cloud technologies.
* Experience with microservices architecture.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the financial industry.
* Exposure to Functional/Integration/Performance testing
