 
        
        Here at Joseph Rowntree Trust, we are seeking an HR Assistant – someone to deliver group HR services that are efficient and effective, delivering great services in transactional HR processing across the full employee lifecycle.
Responsibilities
 * Provide day‑to‑day HR and recruitment administration support, ensuring employee records are accurate and up to date across our HR/Payroll systems.
 * Assist with new starters, contractual changes, absence management and reporting.
 * Support wider HR projects such as annual pay awards and employee benefits.
 * Help maintain compliance by ensuring right‑to‑work, DBS and reference checks are completed, conducting regular data audits, and keeping all employee files accurate and compliant.
 * Act as a first point of contact for general enquiries, providing clear guidance on policies and procedures and supporting effective employee communication.
Qualifications
 * Strong experience in HR administration within a busy environment and a sound understanding of employment legislation.
 * Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), HR software systems and electronic diary management tools.
 * Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
 * Strong communication skills and the capacity to build effective relationships at all levels across the organisation.
 * High level of attention to detail, and solid literacy and numeracy skills.

Flexible Working

The role offers flexible working, allowing you to work between the office and home with an expectation of two days a week in your home office.

Salary
£17,865.64 per annum (FTE £29,083.60 per annum)
