We deliver acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Community Respiratory Team is a dynamic and responsive multidisciplinary team (MDT) supporting patients with moderate to severe COPD within Glasgow City in their own homes. The team includes Physiotherapists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Pharmacists, Rehabilitation Support Workers, Business Support, and Leadership roles.
The service is evidence-based, supporting three intervention pathways:
* Prevention of hospital admission (support for acute exacerbation)
* Chronic disease management (rehabilitation and self-management)
The post holder will work as a specialist respiratory nurse within the on-call team, supporting junior staff with supervision and TURAS. They will act independently, making clinical judgments regarding patient prioritization and management within their scope of practice. Work is triaged and allocated based on patient needs.
You will coordinate with Consultant-led MDTs, the Respiratory Early Supported Discharge (ESD) team, hospital-based respiratory assessment services, and respiratory nurse specialists.
Requirements include a nursing degree, current NMC registration, and experience working with COPD or respiratory patients. The working pattern is Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm. There are two vacancies with flexibility for full-time and/or part-time hours. Membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG is required.
