Salary: £32,080 to £35,608 per annum

Grade: Grade 6

Do you enjoy supporting teams in the day-to-day running of the administrative journey of a student? Do you understand the Higher education environment? Are you able to communicate across a wide range of departments and flexibly across different situations? If so, this may be the role for you.

The Student Life Directorate are looking for a Non-standard Course and Programmes Officer who will supervise the day-to-day work of the Non-standard Course and Programmes team, to ensure the smooth running of record administration and related student journey events. They will also provide administrative and systems support including training, playing a full role in the provision of management information.

These activities require a high attention to detail with the ability to prioritise conflicting demands whilst maintaining precision in meeting rigorous deadlines.


As Non-standard Course and Programmes Officer you can expect to be involved in

* Promoting and providing advice to schools and other stakeholders on all Course and Programme matters, particularly non-standard, ensuring compliance and adherence to University policies and credit framework.
* Administering programmes, ensuring compliance with University regulations and procedures and ensuring that students are correctly registered and that maintenance of student files is carried out effectively to ensure University records are accurate and consistent with the University’s regulations and business processes, to meet the University’s strategic objective ensuring complete compliance.
* Leading on administration for non-standard courses, providing advice concerning policies, procedures and technical system administration, using professional judgement to evaluate and foresee potential issues.
* Supervise staff, allocating and prioritising work, ensuring all team members equally contribute and department objectives are met, highlighting possible shortfalls to the Manager.


What will you bring to the role?

* Excellent interpersonal skills – establishing relationships and maintaining contacts with people from a variety of backgrounds.
* First Degree or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge and understanding of the HE environment.
* Experience of using complex spreadsheets and databases on a regular basis.
