Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse & Stores Worker to support the daily operations of our warehouse and storage facilities within the water industry. This role is essential to maintaining the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of water utility materials, parts, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehousing or logistics and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
* Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries of materials, parts, and equipment
* Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately and in a timely manner
* Maintain accurate inventory records using stock control systems (manual or digital)
* Ensure proper storage of items in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
* Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack)
* Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts to monitor inventory levels
* Assist with inventory planning and reordering of essential items
* Collaborate with procurement, operations, and field teams to meet project and maintenance demands
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and storage areas
* Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
* Report damaged or faulty items and assist in resolving stock discrepancies
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience in a warehouse, stores, or logistics role (experience in utilities or water industry preferred)
* Forklift license and experience operating lifting equipment (desirable)
* Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems
* Physically fit and able to lift heavy items safely
* Good organizational and time-management skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Valid driver’s license (desirable)
Working Conditions:
* Primarily based in a warehouse or storage facility, with occasional outdoor or field support
* May involve heavy lifting and use of machinery
* Use of PPE and adherence to health and safety standards is mandatory
* Standard working hours, with occasional overtime or weekend shifts depending on operational needs
