Your Role This is a dynamic, hands-on position combining planned maintenance with reactive problem-solving. A typical day could include: Coordinating and reviewing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities Managing contractors and ensuring high standards of delivery and compliance Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults Responding to urgent issues, incidents, or safety concerns Supporting refurbishment and improvement projects across the estate Attending site meetings and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders Monitoring asset performance and contributing to lifecycle planning You'll be at the centre of operational delivery, helping to ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully functional. About the Team You'll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking Facilities Management function delivering services for a major rail organisation, responsible for maintaining and improving a wide-ranging property portfolio. The team delivers everything from reactive maintenance to large-scale refurbishment and new-build projects, offering excellent variety and professional development opportunities. What You'll Bring We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. You'll ideally have: Practical, hands-on experience in Facilities Management or building services Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems Experience supervising or managing contractors Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues Familiarity with CAFM/EAM systems, compliance processes, and maintenance planning Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel essential) HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) Apprenticeship or vocational training (highly valued) Experience with AutoCAD and membership of a professional body would be advantageous but not essential.
