Key Responsibilities
* Lead, support, and motivate a team of HGV / PSV Technicians and Fitters within the workshop.
* Carry out hands‑on maintenance, servicing, and repair of HGVs / PSVs as required.
* Ensure all vehicles are maintained to DVSA standards and operators licence requirements.
* Allocate workloads, monitor productivity, and support technicians with technical queries.
* Oversee defect management, vehicle diagnostics, and repair quality checks.
* Maintain accurate workshop records and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
* Liaise with engineering management regarding fleet performance and maintenance planning.
* Support the implementation of continuous improvement across the workshop.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
* Proven experience as an HGV / PSV Technician, preferably with exposure to supervisory or shift‑leading duties.
* Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to carry out mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic repairs.
* In‑depth knowledge of workshop safety, DVSA standards, and fleet maintenance processes.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure, fast‑moving depot environment.
* Full UK Driving Licence essential; PCV licence desirable (training may be provided).
