Job Summary
Consultant Community Paediatrician for BHR Neurodevelopmental team (Barking & Dagenham, Havering & Redbridge) – Fixed Term 2 Year.
Base: Acorn centre, Havering.
The post is for 10 sessions Consultant Paediatrician in the BHR Neurodevelopmental service. The post holder will be a GMC registered clinician responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver evidence‑based care, including professional and legal accountability.
Main Duties
The post holder will support clinical and operational leadership as part of a newly established Neurodevelopmental service for children, support peers and be an effective team member working on own initiative. They will supervise junior colleagues, provide teaching and training, and collaborate with health and social care professionals and agencies.
Additional duties include service development, evaluation and applied research as part of the BHR Neurodevelopmental service alongside pediatric and CAMHS consultants.

Job Responsibilities
* Organise and prioritise own and others’ workload in day‑to‑day allocation of work.
* Adhere to Trust protocols and procedures, especially around administering medicine and moving and handling.
* Provide accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.
* Ensure effective risk management at team level through accident/incident reporting, risk assessment and control, and adding residual risks to the Trust register.
* Support development of the ASD/ADHD service, working alongside the multidisciplinary specialist team, contributing to assessment, relevant investigations and supervising MDT colleagues; produce reports for statutory work including EHC plans.
* Leverage opportunities to develop the integrated multidisciplinary Neurodevelopmental service across BHR.
* Provide high quality, accessible, timely, efficient, effective, comprehensive and specialist Neurodevelopmental service for children and young people, and their carers/parents and families.
* Provide and/or support evidence‑based assessment and clinical management, including highly specialist assessment and contributing to multi‑disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and young people referred to the ASD service.
Person Specification
GMC
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
Qualifications
* CCT or equivalent.
Specialist Register
* Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
Experience
* At least 2 years’ experience in Community Child Health.
