Introduction Child & Youth Consultant - Your Senior Mental Health Adventure This role is for an experienced and motivated clinician ready to lead, mentor, and provide advanced clinical support across headspace Tamworth and its satellite sites in Gunnedah, Narrabri, Moree, and Manilla. You’ll support clinical escalation in the absence of the Clinical Lead, ensure high-quality service delivery, and mentor a growing team of mental health professionals. Description What You’ll Do Lead with Confidence Be the go-to for clinical escalation and guide your team through complex cases. Mentor & Support Inspire, coach, and debrief team members while welcoming new staff. Coordinate Outposts Keep services running smoothly across Gunnedah, Narrabri, Moree, and Manilla. Develop the Workforce Supervise and support new grads and students in the Early Career Program. Deliver Impact Provide therapy, run groups, maintain documentation, and collaborate with the team. Skills And Experiences Your Expertise & Leadership Skills Essential Criteria: Formal qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing. Current or Eligibility for registration with AHPRA or AASW. Minimum 2 years’ experience in youth mental health, including leadership or mentoring. Strong understanding of National Standards for Mental Health Services. Clinical risk management and escalation expertise. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience delivering evidence-based individual and group interventions. Knowledge of youth mental health and appropriate therapeutic interventions. Other Role Requirements: Competence with Microsoft Office and ability to learn clinical software systems. Valid NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel regularly to outpost sites. Compliance with police checks and Working With Children Checks (WWCC).
