Job Title: Assistant Bodyshop Manager / Estimator
Location: Westcliff-on-Sea
Salary: Up to £50,000 (depending on experience) + other excellent benefits listed below.
Full-time, permanent position: Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm.

They are now actively looking to recruit a highly experienced, professional, Bodyshop Painter with extensive industry experience.
Job Summary:
To support the Bodyshop Manager in the efficient day-to-day operation of the accident repair centre while also carrying out vehicle damage assessments and preparing accurate repair estimates. This role combines workshop supervision, customer service, and estimating responsibilities to ensure high-quality repairs, strong productivity, and excellent customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Bodyshop Manager in managing daily workshop operations and staff coordination.
* Assist with maintaining workshop efficiency, productivity, and overall customer satisfaction.
* Assess vehicle damage and prepare accurate repair estimates using estimating systems (e.g., Audatex or similar).
* Liaise with insurance companies, engineers, and customers regarding repair approvals and updates.
* Allocate repair jobs to technicians based on workload, skills, and repair priorities.
* Monitor the progress of vehicles through the repair process to ensure deadlines and productivity targets are met.
* Provide regular repair updates to customers and handle queries or concerns professionally.
* Order and manage required parts and materials to avoid repair delays.
* Identify additional damage during strip-down and update estimates accordingly.
* Carry out quality control checks to ensure repairs meet manufacturer and safety standards.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures within the workshop.
* Maintain accurate job documentation, repair records, and photographic evidence for insurance claims.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience working within an automotive Bodyshop.
* Experience preparing repair estimates and dealing with insurance work.
* Strong understanding of vehicle body repair processes.
* Great organisational and time management skills.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively.
* Familiarity with estimating systems and workshop management software.
