School Caretaker - Rotherham / Doncaster

Academics Doncaster are working with a welcoming school on the Rotherham/Doncaster border who are seeking a dedicated caretaker to join their team on a temporary, long-term basis, with the potential to lead to a permanent role.
Position: School Caretaker
Location: Rotherham / Doncaster Border
Contract: Temporary, long-term (potential to become permanent)
Hours: 25 hours per week - mornings only (site opening duties required)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £50- 75 (depending on experience, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
About the Role
As a School Caretaker, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe day-to-day running of the school site. You'll be responsible for opening the school each morning, maintaining the premises, and carrying out general caretaking and site management duties to support staff and pupils.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys keeping a school environment safe, clean, and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
Open and secure the school site each morning.
Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks.
Ensure health and safety standards are met across the school.
Oversee contractors and deliveries when required.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of school grounds and facilities.
Support with site management duties as directed by the school's leadership team.
Candidate Requirements
✔ Previous caretaking, site management, or maintenance experience (school experience desirable).
✔ Good understanding of basic health & safety and site security.
✔ Ability to work independently and take initiative.
✔ Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach.
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
