We're an ambitious start-up bringing together 20 years of hospitality experience to launch Yeatei — an Asian fusion restaurant inspired by the glamour of 1920s Shanghai with a modern twist. Expect rich, layered flavours, a lively yet refined atmosphere and standout service. As we prepare for launch, we're looking for an Assistant General Manager to help bring this vision to life.
The Role
As Assistant General Manager, you'll work side by side with the General Manager and founding team to ensure every detail of the guest journey is seamless. From supporting front-of-house leadership to driving service standards, coordinating daily operations, and motivating the team, you'll play a key part in opening and running the restaurant.
This is an ideal role for someone who already has supervisor or AGM experience and is ready to step into a high-impact, career-building position within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
* Pre-Opening Support – Assist with venue set-up, supplier coordination, and recruitment.
* Team Support & Training – Help onboard, train and motivate the FOH team; lead by example with warmth and professionalism.
* Guest Experience – Deliver exceptional hospitality on the floor; resolve guest queries with confidence and care.
* Operational Assistance – Support the GM with rotas, bookings, stock control, compliance and supplier relationships.
* Commercial Awareness – Monitor sales and costs; share insights to improve efficiency and profitability.
* Brand & Culture – Champion Yeatei's values; contribute ideas for marketing, local engagement, and building a loyal following.
About You
* Experience as an Assistant GM, Supervisor, or Duty Manager in a quality restaurant.
* Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations, with awareness of kitchen processes.
* Passionate about hospitality and committed to delivering memorable guest experiences.
* Adaptable, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment.
* Ambitious, with the drive to develop into a future GM role.
* Knowledge of Asian cuisine or fusion dining is a plus, but not essential.

Start Date
The start-up phase will be part-time and compensated on a partial basis until the restaurant officially opens. A clear plan for training, development, and long-term progression will be agreed from the outset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,500.00 per year
