Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Southport

Salary: £475-£500 per week

Working Days: Monday-Friday (8.30am-3.30pm)

Start Date: September 2026 (5 days a week)

Connex Education is looking for a calm, nurturing teaching assistant who has experience supporting children with special educational needs. Experience supporting children in primary schools is essential for this role.

About the School:

Connex Education have a long-standing working partnership with this amazing primary school located in Southport. The school have a great tradition of taking staff on contract, and a temp-to-perm contract will be offered to a suitable candidate for the role.

About the role:

As a primary teaching assistant, you will work closely with class teachers in Lower Key Stage 2 to support two children with complex needs. The children will require support with speech & language and will be working in class, with some interventions outside the classroom.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable.
• Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary classroom is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to adapt to different learning needs.
• It is essential that you have a DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain a new one through Connex.
