Manufacturing Engineer – Bolton
World Class Defence Organisation based in Bolton is looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer.
Rate: £35.00 per hour
Location: Bolton
Contract: 37 Hours per week
Overtime: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at 'time and a quarter'
Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
Responsibilities
- Ensure products are built efficiently and to budget as part of the multi-project manufacturing process.
- Compile and update Manufacturing Instructions.
- Design, commission and prove associated tooling.
- Support the industrial validation process through the use of FMEAs, FAIs, etc.
- Resolve technical problems that may arise during the manufacturing process.
- Update route cards following rework activities.
- Manage configuration control by embedding design modifications into Manufacturing Instructions.
- Support the Non Conformance Process using SAP.

- Industrial validation through the use of FMEAs, translating design requirements and interpreting design drawings to produce Manufacturing Build Instructions for both skilled and semi-skilled operators.
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and level 3 (ONC) OR formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent with experience within an engineering discipline.
- 5 years’ experience within an engineering discipline.
- Experience of electronic sub-assembly manufacture through to system level builds.
- Experience and knowledge of the assembly process for small/miniature electro-mechanical actuation systems.
- Ability to work within and contribute to a team environment.
- Recognition and understanding of customer requirements and ability to respond to them.
