As R&M Team Manager, you will be responsible for resources associated with the repair and maintenance of the clean water network across specific network areas for our client.
You will supervise operational repair and maintenance support to resolve issues such as poor supplies, no water, leaks, and water quality issues. Activities include repairing burst mains, leak repair, stop tap repairs, installation of equipment, investigations, and tracing supplies. You will provide operational leadership—ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to our client’s expectations. Customer service is critical, and satisfaction is measured through the C-MeX regulatory measure. You will work closely with the client to improve C-MeX ratings and demonstrate leadership in customer care.
You will coordinate with the scheduling team to ensure timely delivery of repair and maintenance work and communicate with impacted customers as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise water repair and maintenance teams and oversee their daily activities.
* Organize labor efficiently, including recruitment, disciplinary actions, wages, and absence management.
* Manage resources such as materials and equipment.
* Ensure accurate documentation of work, including photographs and meter asset details.
* Visit local sites regularly to review progress and ensure standards are met.
* Conduct monthly team briefings, coaching, and development sessions.
* Perform team inspections focusing on quality and first-time right operational delivery.
* Act as Health & Safety Representative, conducting workplace inspections, raising safety issues, and investigating incidents.
Experience and Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications, e.g., NRWSA at supervisory level.
* Health & Safety qualification (preferred).
* Experience in utilities sector.
* Supervisor Street Works qualification.
* Deep Excavation knowledge and experience.
* Strong verbal communication skills.
* Good management skills.
* Financial and commercial awareness.
* Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
