Ledger Assistant - Payment Team Contract: Full-Time Permanent Hours: Monday – Friday (38.75 per week) Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham Salary: £25,389 per annum The Role: We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Ledger Assistant to join our finance team based in Sutton Coldfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous purchase ledger or payments experience, or someone early in their finance career with a strong willingness to learn. You’ll be part of a close-knit team, stepping into a well-structured role where everything can be taught. While the work is straightforward, it can get intense around month-end, so we’re looking for someone who can stay focused under pressure and support the smooth running of our payment processes, as attitude and eagerness to learn are just as important as experience. Key Responsibilities · Processing invoices and supporting the purchase ledger function · Assisting with weekly and monthly payment runs · Helping with month-end tasks and reporting requirements · Reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records · Dealing with supplier queries and internal communications · Assisting with ad-hoc finance admin duties and projects Must-haves we’re looking for in experience for this role: · Experience in a purchase ledger or similar finance support role · Confident working in a deadline-driven environment, especially at month-end · A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn · Excellent attention to detail and accuracy · Strong communication skills and a team player mentality · Comfortable using Excel and finance systems (training provided where needed) · Reliable and flexible, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively What we provide to you: · Annual salary of £25,389 · 22 Days Holiday Bank Holidays (Increasing to 25 days after years of service) · X2 Life Assurance · Pension Scheme · Hybrid flexible working (3 days in our Sutton Coldfield office) · Genuine career progression and mentorship opportunities What are the next steps?
