Reporting into the Buyer, you will be responsible for a multitude of day-to-day tasks. This includes all administration for a busy buying department managing five brands. Day-to-day stock management of componentry. The role has responsibility for all administration, data maintenance, liaising internally with Technical, Sales, Marketing, and Design, and externally with third-party manufacturers and logistics providers to ensure 100% stock availability is provided within budgeted inventory levels.
* Maintaining the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for all purchased materials, components, and finished goods
* Responsible for ensuring maintenance and integrity of the componentry item master file: COG, lead times, MOQ’s etc
* Responsible for liaising with the third-party manufacturers and logistics providers to ensure all transactions operate seamlessly
* Communicating daily with suppliers and answering all queries. Supplying production briefs to suppliers. Obtaining updated production and delivery schedules, updating the wider team with dates
* Liaising with suppliers to ensure appropriate upstream inventory buffers are in place and reported to the wider business, and obsolescence is minimized during new product introductions
* Administrative duties including creation of products in our internal system and our ERP system
* Organisation of all purchase orders documents
* Assisting with the management of shipments, including arrangement and negotiation of freight services
* Coordination with the warehouse team to prepare documentation such as ASNs and arranging inbound/outbound shipments
* Sample inventory management including requesting samples and creating and maintaining logs. Coordinating delivery of component and packaging samples from suppliers to make up salesman samples
* Requesting and collating product information from suppliers. Assisting with proofing of component artwork
* Requesting and uploading technical documentation from suppliers
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum 12 months experience preferred
* Good understanding of supply chain principles and practices, including purchasing from 3rd party suppliers, inventory control, 3PL warehouse operations, supplier management, and data management
* Experience of working with an ERP system, NetSuite experience preferred
* Experience of working in an FMCG environment is advantageous but not essential
* High attention to detail and level of accuracy
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Fully conversant with Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook and Excel
* Ability to work with suppliers and forwarders
* Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment, including prioritising and re-prioritising tasks
* Very organised
* Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
* Keen interest in the personal care market
