We have a rare opportunity for an Infrastructure Analyst to join our award wining Business Change & Technology team on a 12 month, fixed term contract. Working closely with our Information Security team, you will help ensure vulnerabilities are remediated by keeping our Windows endpoints and software up to date through effective patching and compliance management.
This role will involve a mixture of working from our head office in Birmingham and home working.

Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, the responsibilities of the Infrastructure Analyst are varied, rewarding and include:
* Partner with the Information Security team to understand vulnerability findings and agree remediation priorities and timelines.
* Coordinate, test and deploy Windows endpoint and application patches in line with change and release processes.
* Enterprise Management – Provide software management for the following Enterprise applications: SCCM, Intune, Meraki, Apple Business Manager, Office 365, MS Defender
* Use SCCM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager), MS Intune and Meraki Systems Manager to deliver OS and software updates across the endpoint estate.
* Work with the team to maintain patching schedules, deployment rings and maintenance windows to minimise business disruption.
* Monitor patch deployment success, resolve failures and drive remediation to achieve compliance targets.
* Work with Service Management and support teams to troubleshoot complex endpoint patching issues and recurring problems.
* Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles for patching and endpoint update processes.
* Produce regular compliance and remediation reporting for Information Security, management, audit and governance requirements.
* Support project activity related to endpoint management, Windows upgrades and security tooling improvements.
* Liaise with third‑party vendors to help resolve and troubleshoot issues across the M&B IT estate.
* Technical Consultancy – Provide consultancy to Projects and 3rd parties for a variety of IT related activities
* Liaise with 3rd party vendors to help resolve and troubleshoot issues across the MaB IT estate.
What you'll need to bring to this Infrastructure Analyst role:
Required Skills and Knowledge
* Windows client OS platforms and endpoint lifecycle management
* iOS and Android platforms and endpoint lifecycle management
* Hands‑on experience with SCCM / Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
* Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Intune / endpoint management policies
* Hands‑on experience / good understanding of Meraki Systems Manager
* Strong understanding of patch management processes for OS and third‑party applications
* Ability to interpret vulnerability remediation requirements and work to risk‑based priorities (e.g., severity / CVSS concepts)
* Strong troubleshooting skills for endpoint patching, software deployment and update compliance issues
* Strong working knowledge of PowerShell to automate and optimise operational tasks
* Experience producing compliance reporting and maintaining remediation evidence for audit
* Change management experience within an ITIL / structured service environment
* Working knowledge of endpoint security tooling (e.g., Microsoft Defender) and best practice
Advantageous
* Certification in Microsoft Modern Work (MS-), Endpoint (MD-), Azure (AZ-) or equivalent IT qualification
* Experience managing Windows patching at scale using deployment rings/pilots and phased rollouts
* Experience with application packaging and deployment (MSI/MSIX, Win32 app packaging) via SCCM/Intune
* Experience working closely with Information Security / vulnerability remediation programmes
* Service Desk toolset/ticketing systems, preferably ServiceNow
* Good understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN / WAN / Wi‑Fi) to support troubleshooting
