Product Consultant
Product Consultant at Verisk – you join us to provide support during client engagements and clear guidance on the effective use of VSBS Product and Solutions. You will partner with clients to understand and document requirements, bring clarity to the solution view, and leverage your understanding of product-specific processes, constraints and strategic direction.
Responsibilities
* Leading the analysis of client business processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most effective solutions to meet the needs of the client.
* Create, maintain, and continually evaluate the client’s business process against the VSBS solutions and how they can be utilized to support their processes and key challenges.
* Creates documentation including requirements, acceptance criteria, feature description, and process flows.
* Leading business process design and requirements gathering meetings.
* Support the implementation of business configuration changes using existing processes and tools.
* Providing support to analysts within the Solution Group in building a joint understanding of the requirements across the other stakeholders and support them in establishing user stories and acceptance criteria based on business requirements.
* Assisting during the execution of user acceptance testing.
* Liaising with Product, Programme, Project and Account Management around planning, escalations and problem resolution.
* Support and mentor colleagues within the business.
* Deliver internal and external training.
Stakeholder Management Skills
* Able to influence, lead and deliver business analysis of client implementations.
* Earn the trust and influence positive engagement from clients.
* Create productive relationships across the VSBS teams – leveraging their client insight.
* The ability to constructively say ‘no’ to clients to maintain their focus on the successful delivery against the business requirements and in line with VSBS strategy.
Commercial Awareness
* Guide client requirements and expectations within agreed timelines and VSBS strategy.
* Identify and highlight scope deviation and support the appropriate change control process.
Process Leadership and Optimisation
* Lead the way in following VSBS analysis processes, whilst identifying and building the case for ongoing improvements.
Team Engagement
* Be a role model in terms of engagement, bringing together the right stakeholders and assets at the right time to maximum effect, benefitting both VSBS and our clients.
* Work with the Solution Groups to provide input from client implementation experiences to influence and support strategic direction aligned with the needs of our clients.
* Support in pre‑sales engagement where required.
Qualifications
* Deep understanding of Sequel and its products, with a passion for the customer experience; or diverse and in‑depth market knowledge, with similar programme/solution analysis experience gained in vendor/consultancy organisations.
* Value and enjoy the diversity afforded by working across multiple products and multiple client projects in parallel.
* Be able to demonstrate successful delivery in a matrix organisation model.
* Bring commercial mindedness and a clear client focus to all aspects of the role; delivering output successfully within budget.
* Be flexible in working and utilising agile or waterfall approaches.
Skills and Knowledge Required
* A strong interest in technology and its application to business and operational challenges.
* Passionate about identifying and delivering process improvements, both internally and in client‑facing environments.
* Experience working within the London Market, particularly within Underwriting, is highly desirable. Candidates who have worked as Underwriters or held senior roles in Underwriting Operations within London Market carriers, and who are seeking to transition into the Insurtech space, would be well‑suited for this opportunity.
* Familiarity with Verisk Specialty Business Insurance products and platforms is a significant advantage.
* Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, with confidence in presenting ideas and driving change at leadership level.
* Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating across cross‑functional teams in a large matrix organisation.
* Ability to conduct technical discussions directly with clients and internal project/product management.
* Excellent team collaboration skills and a proactive approach to shared goals.
* Strong relationship‑building capabilities, fostering a climate conducive to positive working relationships with both internal and external clients.
* Basic knowledge of SQL – ability to perform simple queries and support data analysis; considered a desirable skill.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
