About the Role
As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well‑maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first‑class care and support.
You will work on a variety of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. You may handle everything from fixing a leaky tap to planting new bulbs.
You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You will also liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.
About You
The wellbeing of our residents will be your number one priority as a Head of Maintenance. You should have hands‑on experience of property maintenance, at least one trade skill and ideally a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks.
You must be reliable and flexible in your working hours, hold a full UK driving licence, possess IT literacy and have GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
