We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a local housing association which exists to meet housing need in the communities of South Worcestershire and North Gloucestershire, for an experienced Income Officer on a 7-month temporary basis. This is a full-time role and offers flexible hybrid working, with 3 day in office and 2 days at home along with flexible working hours.
Day to day duties will include:
1. Undertake a range of income collection duties relating to rent and service charge income; to provide a coordinated, flexible, and effective income collection service
2. Take responsibility for the appropriate and effective action to recover rent arrears, service charges and sundry debts within a defined area
3. Co-ordinate and manage legal action to recover rent arrears and other debts
4. Provide a liaison service between the organisation and the housing benefit teams across a range of Local Authorities, and with the Department for Work and Pensions
5. Provide financial inclusion advice, information and support to customers and provide debt awareness advice to customers
6. Work closely with Neighbourhood Officers in the collection and recovery of rents
7. Monitor and manage the debt recovery process across all tenure types
8. Ensure that policies and procedures are followed, and contact made with debtors at the earliest opportunity, in order to minimise arrears as far as possible
