Job Description
Make your mark as a Quantity Surveyor. The primary role of the Quantity Surveyor is to provide contractual and commercial support to the various projects being undertaken by Boskalis Westminster and other UK-based associated companies.
Your responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:
13. Advise and assist Project Management and site teams on contractual requirements and issues
14. Manage and assist with contract communications
15. Attend both internal and external Progress and Commercial meetings
16. Responsible for collecting records, preparing valuations, monthly payment applications and invoices for the Company’s projects.
17. Value contract variations / and Compensation Events (CEs)
18. Assist Cost Controllers with monthly financial reporting
19. Assisting the Contract Manager with claims and/or liaison with external legal advisers
20. Sub-Contract enquiries and evaluation and initial drafting of Sub-Contracts
21. Sub-contract management (administration, variations/CE’s, measurement and payment certification, etc.)
22. Support the Contract Manager and estimating team with tender assessments and advice
23. Overview of and assistance with UK insurance and liaison with Head Office Insurance Department.
You can make your mark as a Quantity Surveyor if you have the following:
24. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
25. Degree in Quantity Surveying and/or RICS qualified preferred but not essential
26. Background in civil engineering. Marine civil engineering is preferred but not essential
27. Sound knowledge of civil engineering contracts, in particular, the NEC suite of contracts
28. Good communication and written skills
29. Ability to integrate into a diverse, often multi-national team and make your input count
30. Self-motivated and able to work on their initiative.
31. Full UK driving licence

Extra Information:
35. Your team: You will work as a Quantity Surveyor in the Dredging business unit, with involvement in projects including capital and maintenance dredging projects; port developments; land reclamation; coastal protection schemes, beach renourishment and occasional work in Joint Ventures.
36. Where you will work: You will be working predominantly at Westminster House in Fareham, Hampshire, UK. There will be some travel within the UK and Ireland with occasional requirements to work away from home on project sites, therefore having a full UK driving licence is essential. Whilst the role is based in Fareham, we offer up to 2 days a week hybrid working.
37. Full/part-time job: The position of Quantity Surveyor is a full-time job - 37.5 hours a week.
