We are recruiting for a Production Manager from a manufacturing background to join a leading plastics manufacturer in this brand new role based in Hereford on a permanent, full time basis.As Production Manager you will work Monday to Friday 8am-5pm with a salary of £45k per annum plus excellent benefits as below.Reporting into Operations Manager, you will responsibility for managing the manufacturing facility including the direct management for 3 Production Shift Managers who work across 3 shifts. Your main responsibilities will include:
* Assist in the creation of the production plan and inform the Operations Manager of any implications.
* Responsible for the execution of the production plan.
* Ensure manufacturing processes deliver the planned output and Yield performance
* Ensure products are manufactured to meet the customer expectations and specification
* Responsible for resource planning and manage the workforce in line with the company policy
* Ensure production data accuracy is maintained and verified
* Provide the Operations Manager with performance reports on a regular basis
* Create and publish KPI’s relating to the production performance on a daily basis
* Provide the General Manager with regular asset condition reports
* Ensure all tools and machines are maintained to a high standard
* Support the Operations Manager to implement improvements and projects as required
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
* Previous experience working as a Production Manager within a manufacturing environment
* Experience in managing large workforce on multiple shifts
* Understanding of plastic manufacturing processes would be advantageous
* Formal Management qualification is desirable
* Plastic Extrusion or Moulding Industry Experience is desirable
* Continuous improvement techniques
* Good IT skills in particular Excel and MRP/ ERP systems
* Good attention to detail
* Dynamic and enthusiastic shop floor management style
* Excellent communication skills
