1. Radar systems for fighter jets like the Typhoon and SAAB Gripen
2. GCAP – Future Generation Radar & Electro-Optical Targeting products
3. Infra-Red Counter Measures (IRCM) systems
4. Laser target designators and ranging systems
5. Surveillance AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radars
What you’ll do as a Systems Engineer
6. Break down complex engineering problems into structured, solvable components.
7. Define clear system-level requirements based on stakeholder needs.
8. Design and develop high-performance system architectures using model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
9. Use Simulink, MATLAB, or synthetic environments to simulate and refine system behaviour.
10. Investigate system anomalies using real trial data, ensuring performance meets specifications.
11. Design and execute verification & validation (V&V) strategies across the entire system lifecycle.
What you’ll bring
12. Proven experience leading systems engineering projects from design to implementation.
13. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities effectively.
14. A science-based Honours degree or equivalent industry experience.

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
