Role Summary
The role of the residential care worker is to work as directed by Team leaders, deputy managers and the registered manager to provide advice, assistance and support to young people in the children's home. To attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs. To be a positive role model and to work closely with them to enable them to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential. To provide a fun, caring and nurturing environment and build positive relationships and life opportunities for children to thrive
Duties
* Assist children with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
* Implement and monitor individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Provide emotional support and encouragement to promote confidence and independence.
* Facilitate communication between children, families, and other professionals involved in their care.
* Maintain accurate records of progress and any changes in behaviour or health.
* Engage children in educational and recreational activities to enhance their development.
* Drive to various locations as needed for appointments or activities, ensuring safe transportation.
Key Responsibilities

* meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people Working from the guidelines of the children's homes regulations and quality standards
* To provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel secure and free from harm.
* Establishing positive relationships with young people and always offering them unconditional and positive regard
* Helping young people manage behaviour by offering structure and insight into unacceptable behaviour and rewarding positive behaviour
* Ensuring that each young person's care plan is followed and kept up to date to reflect their changing needs
* Provide a home where young peoples daily needs are met in relation to childcare including cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home etc
* To act as a key worker or co worker for a young person to ensure that the young person's care plans are up to date and that all their care needs are being met.
* To provide keyworking support to young people on a 1:1 basis to enable young people to address past and present difficulties
* To provide support for young people in their education this may include supporting them in the classroom if necessary
* To maintain records and complete written reports on young people for meetings, reviews or care purposes
* Empowering young people to be involved in their care and consulting them on decisions about their lives
* Acting as an advocate at meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion
* Encouraging the young person to enjoy a positive life within the community and take part in activities
* Drive children to and from appointments, school, activities ect.

Location; Oldbury or Cradley Heath, Sandwell, West Midlands
Hours of work
shift work- 4 days from 7 days including 2 weekends per month. shifts start at 7am till 6pm or 6pm till 10am. Plus 2 x sleep shifts per week.
Pay; £13- £16 dependant on experience and Qualifications. sleep shifts are an additional £55 per shift
