Design Coordinator – New Build College £140M

Day Rate: £280–£320 per day depending on experience
Our client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor who is seeking a Design Coordinator to join the project team delivering a new build further education college in Barry. This is an opportunity to work on a significant education sector development, supporting the management and coordination of design information through the construction delivery phase.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate the flow of design information between consultants, subcontractors and the project team
* Support the Design Manager in managing the design process during the construction phase
* Review drawings and technical submissions to ensure compliance with specification, programme requirements and buildability
* Manage RFIs and technical queries
* Monitor design deliverables against programme requirements
* Assist with design risk management and change control procedures
* Attend design coordination meetings and record actions where required
* Support compliance with project BIM requirements where applicable
* Ensure design information supports delivery in line with quality and technical expectations
Requirements
* Previous experience in a Design Coordinator or Assistant Design Manager role with a main contractor
* Experience working on new build construction projects, ideally within the education, healthcare or public sector environments
* Ability to review technical drawings and consultant information effectively
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Relevant construction-related qualification such as HNC, HND or degree preferred
