Service Manager
Location: Northern England & Scotland (Regional role)
Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Role
We are looking for a Service Manager with strong experience managing field-based engineers to oversee a regional team of 20–25 engineers servicing commercial coffee machines across Northern England and Scotland.
This role is responsible for delivering a high-quality service operation to customers in hospitality, retail, and corporate environments. You will lead from the front, ensuring engineers are supported, service levels are achieved, and customer expectations are exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and developing a team of 20–25 field service engineers
* Overseeing the installation, service, and maintenance of commercial coffee machines
* Planning engineer schedules to ensure effective regional coverage and response times
* Ensuring KPIs, SLAs, and customer service standards are consistently met
* Acting as the escalation point for complex technical or customer issues
* Driving health & safety compliance across all service activities
* Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing technical training
* Working closely with operations, sales, and customer support teams
* Monitoring costs and contributing to budget control and service efficiency
About You
* Proven experience in a Service Manager / Field Service Manager / Engineering Manager role
* Strong people-management experience with remote or field-based teams
* Background in commercial coffee machines or experience as a coffee engineer is highly desirable, but not essential
* Good technical understanding of electro-mechanical equipment
* Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
* Customer-focused with strong communication skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Willingness to travel across Northern England and Scotland
