WORKSHOP ENGINEER (AUDIO)
ABOUT THE ROLE
A BRIEF SUMMARY
Based in Watford, the Workshop Engineer (Audio) will work within the Workshop alongside other Engineers and Technicians.
The role requires a keen interest in broadcasting technology and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Gravity Media’s Engineering department ensures top-tier service by adopting new technologies and delivering client projects on time and within budget.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Assisting the Workshop Team with testing, checking, cleaning, preparing, configuring, programming, and performing first-line maintenance and repair of audio equipment. Responsibilities include scheduled servicing, PAT testing, stock management of spare parts, assisting the Projects Department, providing out-of-hours technical support, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE
* Previous experience working in a Workshop environment and familiarity with broadcast equipment is advantageous but not essential.
* Ability to work effectively within a team.
* Basic understanding of electricity, electronics circuits, power supplies, and audio/video processing, including television signal flow, analog and digital audio signals, ADC, DAC, AES, MADI, Embedded Audio, DANTE, etc.
* Fault-finding skills at the component level are useful but not essential.
