We are looking for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Children’s Community Physiotherapy Team in Havering, on a part time basis ( WTE). We will however consider strong Band 5 candidates with a view to progressing to the Band 6 role once deemed to meet competencies (salary will be dependent on experience to date). Main duties of the job

You will join a dynamic and supportive team in delivering a high standard of physiotherapy service to children and families in Havering- providing specialised assessment and intervention for children and young people aged 0-19, who have complex developmental needs.

As a children’s physiotherapist in our Community team, you will be responsible for your own caseload and delivering therapeutic care in various settings including clinic, the child’s home, special schools, mainstream schools and nurseries, community settings, as well as virtually. Specialist opportunities exist to gain experience working in our well established multi-disciplinary team in the Child development team and special schools. This post provides the opportunity to work in a variety of settings in the community and to gain experience of working with children and young adults with many varying conditions.

Physiotherapists, working as part of Specialist Children’s services and the wider multi-agency team in Havering, are core to the efficient service delivery that we provide to our children and families and improving outcomes for children and young people.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941) pro rata for part time staff.

Person specification

Experience

* A minimum of 18 months post registration experience as a Physiotherapist
* Post registration experience in at least one of the following relevant clinical settings: Children’s Services; Community Physiotherapy Setting; Neurology
* Experience of paediatric physiotherapy practice

Qualifications

* Professional registration
* Right to work in UK (fixed term post)

Skills

* Ability to work with children and families/carers
* Effective use of clinical observations / outcome measures / goal setting/ standardised testing Ability to work effectively as part of a team and facilitate team working.

Knowledge

* Good knowledge of current best practice in Physiotherapy
* Demonstrate understanding of clinical governance and its implication for services policies and procedures relevant to children
* In depth knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to children
