37 hrs per week, permanent. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our forward‑thinking and highly motivated Development Management Team as a Technical Business Support Officer. This key role supports the delivery of high‑quality planning and development management services that make a real difference to our communities. As a valued member of the team, you will provide excellent business and customer support across a diverse range of services, including Planning, Ecology, Building Control, Built Heritage Conservation, and Highways Development Management. The role is based in Telford, a vibrant and growing destination in the heart of Shropshire.
About You
* Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification.
* Have experience working with legislation, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain policies, procedures, and decisions clearly and confidently.
* Have proven experience of delivering essential front‑line customer services, handling enquiries via telephone, email, and face‑to‑face contact in an efficient, friendly, and professional manner, maintaining high standards of customer care at all times.
* Have experience of balancing priorities to deliver statutory services ensuring timescales are met.
* Have a good understanding and experience of IT systems used, including Outlook, Excel, Office and Word.
* Work as part of a dynamic and friendly team who are actively encouraged to engage in how we can deliver continual improvements and progress to our services.
