Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist - Memory Service

The post has arisen due to retirement. The post holder will provide input into the memory service in the Harrogate locality working to a 7.5 DCC/2.5 SPA work programme.
This locality has 23 GP practices and an over 65 population of about 45000. Our goal is to become the gold standard for the delivery of mental health care for older people in the Country. The Trust provides Community Mental Health services through a well‑established Memory service, full‑featured CMHT, Older Adults crisis team and 1 hospital liaison service. The memory service receives around 1000 referrals per year.
Main duties of the job
The consultant will carry out the following
* Assessment and management of all referrals with memory problems
* Diagnostic disclosure appointments following CLS discussions
* Post diagnostic support
* Dementia medication monitoring
* Appropriate non‑pharmacological treatments including Cognitive Stimulation Therapy
There is very much an MDT (Clinical Leadership Sessions – CLS) approach to cases.

Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* MRCPsych qualification
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* Additional clinical qualifications.
