We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join an aspiring and professional company based in Leeds. This is an ideal role for a Transport Planner who is highly organised and conscientious.
The Transport Planner position involves:
1. Answering and directing all calls into the business or message taking
2. Dealing with customer enquiries
3. Handling quotes
4. Data entry
5. Confirming tasks and liaising with drivers to ensure successful completion
6. Coordinating with the sales team to meet customer requirements
7. Liaising with vehicle providers regarding maintenance and availability
8. Issuing weekly/daily workloads and instructions to the driving team
9. Managing drivers' future tasks and daily workloads
10. Addressing delays or issues with deliveries
11. Handling all administrative duties
The Transport Planner should have:
* Professional and organised with excellent communication skills
* Experience in customer service and troubleshooting
* Excellent telephone manner
* Strong IT skills and FLT licence
* Ability to work on own initiative
* A valid driving licence (minimum Cat B)
* FLT licence is desirable (minimum Counter-Balance)
Hours of work are 7:45 am - 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Salary ranges between £19,000 and £23,000, depending on experience.
