BioteCH4 are one of the leading AD operators in the UK, handling the collection and transportation of food waste, oils and fats recycling.

We own and operate a group of anaerobic digestion facilities across the UK. We also provide biological support, emergency response and feedstock supply to other operators within the industry. Our industry expertise means we not only have the knowledge and experience to deal with all the food waste the UK produces.

Our Changing Waste, R100 Energy and Holme Bioenergy sites are located the East Riding of Yorkshire. Changing Waste is an industrial processor of waste, designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks. R100 Energy has the capacity to process up to 90,000 metric tonnes of organic waste per year. with Holme Bioenergy capacity to process up to 80,000 metric tonnes of organic waste per year.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hygiene Operative to join a great team of people and make a difference within a supportive and values-led Organisation. This role will be working 40.25 hours per week Monday to Friday, alternating between one week of early shifts 06:00 - 14:30 and one week of late shifts 09:30 - 18:00.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Working across all 3 sites, the Hygiene Operator is responsible for ensuring the sites are maintained to APHA, EA and regulatory hygiene standards. Maintaining good housekeeping, keeping sites clean and tidy and reporting and resolving issues in a timely manner to maintain regulatory compliance. Also providing a professional cleaning service to the office buildings, toilets and changing facilities maintaining a clean and safe environment for employees, contractors and visitors.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

* Contain and clear any spillages on site in an efficient and safe manner, look at root cause analysis and liaise with Plant Supervisor, SHEQ and Engineering Team to action
* Be organised and maintain a high standard of housekeeping around the site, including litter picking and weed control, managing the cleanliness of the reception, bund and overall site
* Ensuring provisions are in place to allow adherence of Animal Health & Environment Agency requirements (i.e. footbaths always in operation, no food waste is spilt outside the reception hall, litter is collected / prevented from leaving the reception hall, doors not left open for prolonged periods etc.)
* Maintaining cleanliness of entire site – changing rooms, office block, toilets, daily site litter picking, yard, food waste hall, tank area and bund
* Report any issues, shortages and problems to the correct lead, including any equipment defects or lack of supplies
* Cover for Operators (sickness & annual leave), where instructed by Plant Supervisor – assistance with safe and effective loading and unloading of feedstock materials– including the inspection of feedstock against paperwork
* Regular maintenance checks on plant equipment including clean down to company hygiene standards and effective logging of information on company systems. Reporting any faults or non-conformances to Plant Supervisor
* Ensuring the packaging waste within the Reception Hall goes into the correct streams for the daily skip movements (i.e. landfill, recycling etc.)
* Follow company procedures
