An established, international-focused City of London law firm is seeking a Compliance Assistant to join its growing Risk & Compliance function. This role is ideal for someone with at least 12 months' experience in a legal compliance environment who is looking to take the next step in their career. You will gain exposure to high-quality work across AML/KYC, file audits, risk management, and governance support, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business. Key Responsibilities Conduct AML and KYC checks, including client due diligence, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring Carry out file reviews and spot checks to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (SRA, Lexcel, ISO) Maintain compliance registers, risk logs, and internal manuals; assist with updating procedures to reflect regulatory changes Assist with preparation for internal and external audits; collate documentation and liaise with auditors Help prepare compliance reports, track breaches, and support the delivery of staff training Provide general administrative support, including maintaining records, preparing correspondence, and assisting senior compliance colleagues Essential At least 1 year of experience in a compliance role within a law firm or professional services environment Solid understanding of AML/KYC requirements and regulatory frameworks affecting law firms Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail Good communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work with discretion and handle sensitive information appropriately Desirable Experience assisting with Lexcel, ISO, or other accreditation processes Degree in Law, Business, or related discipline Familiarity with compliance systems and AML databases Salary & Location Up to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience) City of London Hybrid working available Why Apply?
