The Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Commercial & Finance to play a central role in shaping the financial and commercial direction of the business. This position combines strategic leadership with hands‑on commercial partnering, providing critical insight to support profitable growth, disciplined investment and effective risk management. This is a newly created role, established in response to the continued growth and increasing complexity of the business.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership team, you will work closely with the Managing Director to improve decision‑making, optimise margins, and protect value across the organisation. You will own core financial processes while ensuring that financial insight is translated into practical, actionable outcomes. This role is suited to a finance leader who is comfortable operating across strategy and detail, influencing at all levels and driving long‑term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
* You will provide commercial leadership and act as a strategic business partner to the Managing Director and senior leadership team, embedding financial and commercial insight into decision‑making across the organisation.
* You will lead the organisation’s approach to risk management, establishing appropriate governance, controls and frameworks.
* A key focus will be developing clear visibility of cost‑to‑serve and profitability by customer, product and channel. You will provide insight that informs pricing, service levels and resource allocation, driving improved margins and sharper commercial focus across the business.
* You will own investment appraisal and capital allocation, ensuring all material investments are supported by robust business cases, aligned to strategic priorities and monitored against expected returns.
* The role will have full accountability for financial control and performance management, ensuring the integrity of reporting, forecasting and cash management.
* You will also lead financial strategy and deal governance, supporting major commercial negotiations and transactions.
About You
* You will be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working close to the business and influencing decisions through data and insight.
* Acquired a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
* You should possess the confidence to challenge, influence, and support senior leaders.
* You must have significant experience as a senior Finance Leader dealing in margin analysis, pricing, and commercial strategy.
* You should have a data‑driven mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
* Strong commercial judgement, analytical capability, and strategic mindset.
* A background in a highly operational, margin‑driven environment.
