This hands-on role involves supporting the public with safe and efficient recycling of household waste. Why this role matters As a Site Operative, you’ll play a crucial role in promoting safety, sustainability, and excellent customer service at our household recycling centre. You’ll help ensure the site runs smoothly and customers recycle responsibly and safely. You’ll also have the chance to gain new skills and qualifications, including first aid and health & safety training—while working in a supportive team environment. What you’ll be doing Supporting the public with safe disposal of household waste and promoting effective recycling Greeting customers and maintaining a helpful, positive attitude Keeping the site clean, safe, and compliant with health & safety regulations Using digital devices to manage bookings, vouchers, and electronic payments Reporting safety issues promptly to site management Performing regular cleaning tasks including sweeping, litter picking, and spill control Reinforcing site rules and promoting responsible site usage Wearing a body camera (provided) to support site safety for both staff and customers What we’re looking for A can-do attitude and willingness to learn on the job Strong customer service skills and confidence in dealing with the public Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively Flexibility to work weekends—this role is specifically for Saturdays and Sundays A keen eye for safety and cleanliness on site What you’ll get in return Salary of £8,649.48 per annum 25 days annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays An additional day off for your birthday Access to retail and gym membership discount schemes Life assurance coverage and health cash plan Opportunities to gain recognised training and qualifications A supportive team culture with room for growth Why CSG?
