Purpose
Use the principles of OPEX to schedule all factory activity across a 1 to 4-week window.
Key Responsibilities & Measures of Success
Leadership
* Ensure safety by scheduling activities that permit safe manufacturing for all site teams.
People
* Communicate effectively with key internal stakeholders such as Planning, Operations, Engineering, Technical, OPEX, R&D, etc., regarding risks, issues, and key changes to optimize customer service at the lowest cost.
Key Deliverables
Deliver excellent results by:
* Scheduling all site activities to meet customer service level targets.
* Optimizing product sequences, volumes, allergen sequences, maintenance windows, training events, and new product trials to improve business performance across the balanced scorecard.
* Planning site labor requirements in collaboration with Operations teams to deliver production plans.
* Creating and continuously improving ideal production sequences to optimize delivery at the lowest cost.
* Building strong relationships with site Operations and customer supply chain contacts to solve problems quickly and effectively.
Standard Work & Problem Solving
* Document planning standards, raise standards, and confirm standard work daily.
* Create and maintain master performance data sets for all SKUs and processes.
* Identify key problem areas and set targets to improve planning effectiveness.
* Use data analysis to identify problems, quantify them, and guide decisions.
* Ensure planning systems are optimized for effective scheduling and material call-offs.
* Identify repeat problems within Operations and work with the team to root cause and implement countermeasures.
Skills & Knowledge
* Experience in FMCG industry, ideally in planning or scheduling roles.
* Understanding of OPEX principles for production schedule optimization.
* Experience with production planning and scheduling, with knowledge of planning systems and their optimization.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to influence multiple levels of the site and customers.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Working knowledge of SAP, Innova, or similar manufacturing systems.
