Industrial Disease Paralegal at Clear IT Recruitment Ltd
Join our team as an Industrial Disease Paralegal in Blackburn. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic legal team, making a real difference for individuals impacted by workplace illness and injury. Prior experience in NIHL matters and a passion for justice are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage your own caseload of NIHL and industrial disease claims from initial instruction to settlement or trial.
2. Conduct assessments, take witness statements, and secure medical evidence.
3. Draft legal documents, including letters of claim, schedules of loss, and court documents.
4. Liaise with clients, medical professionals, barristers, insurers, and solicitors.
5. Investigate potential breaches under relevant health and safety legislation.
6. Ensure procedural compliance with CPR and pre-action protocols.
7. Stay updated on developments in industrial disease litigation.
Skills & Experience
* Experience with Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims.
* Knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and The Limitation Act 1980.
* Excellent client care skills—empathetic, professional, and confident.
* Strong drafting, research, and organizational skills.
* Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
* Proficiency with case management systems.
* Experience with asbestos exposure, HAVs, or respiratory illness claims is advantageous.
* Understanding of medical causation and expert reports.
