Job Description
As a result of continued growth, our client now has a requirement for an Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate and timely estimates for company projects from pre-tender to post-tender stage. This position will have responsibility for maintaining consistent communication with all stakeholders internally and externally, where appropriate to the estimating process, to optimize the company’s commercial advantage.
What you will do:
1. Responsible for consistent workflow to keep the company operational in Ireland and the UK.
2. Ensure each tender is completed consistently and in line with company procedure.
3. Gain knowledge of actual installation time and review projects after completion to evaluate where actual is not in line with budgeted.
4. Assist as part of the estimating team to successfully achieve the business unit’s revenue plan by assisting with the production of accurate and timely estimates.
5. Liaise with other employees within the company to identify, share, and implement best practices.
6. Prepare each tender in a consistently structured and accurate format in line with company policies, standards, and processes, with appropriate consideration of all foreseeable construction, technical, and commercial risks.
7. Produce accurate take-offs/measures of tenders and subsequently input into estimating software to ensure that the prime cost of the project is fully understood.
8. Vet enquiries received to comply with the preparation and dispatch of accurate supplier/subcontractor enquiries within dictated timescales.
9. Work with specialist subcontractors and assess quotations to validate the information received and confirm spec compliance.
10. Prepare Product Substitution and Value Engineering options.
11. Gain up-to-date knowledge of the marketplace regarding pricing levels, competition, and volume of work to ensure that relevant and competitive estimates are consistently prepared.
Qualifications
Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator or of preparing electrical estimations. Knowledge of Electrical installations is an advantage but not essential. Bachelor's Degree Level in Engineering or similar Discipline. Understanding of Health and Safety requirements. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
