Overview Part‑time Salaried GP – 4 sessions per week (Monday & Thursday). Salary depends on experience and start date as soon as possible. Skilled Worker Sponsor available. The practice is located in Howden, with an increasing list size and plans to move to new purpose‑built premises soon.
Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality clinical care to a diverse patient population, including consultations, diagnoses, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
Conduct consultations (face‑to‑face and telephone) in line with the practice schedule.
Make autonomous clinical decisions for self‑referred and referred patients.
Adhere to local and national prescribing guidelines and issue prescriptions in line with best practice.
Manage chronic disease and create/monitor care plans with patients.
Treat acute illnesses, assess undifferentiated conditions, and provide timely interventions.
Engage in preventive care, health screening, vaccinations, and health education.
Maintain accurate patient records, participate in audits, and contribute to quality improvement.
Handle administrative tasks such as referrals, repeat prescriptions, EPS, letters, and discharge summaries.
Participate in on‑call and triage duties, responding to emergency situations.
Collect and analyse audit data to support continuous improvement and clinical governance.
Prescribe medication, conduct medication reviews, and minimise handwritten prescriptions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend meetings, and provide clinical leadership and mentorship.
Ensure compliance with NHS contractual obligations and GMC regulations.
Engage in continuous professional development, appraisal, and revalidation processes.
Qualifications
Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
Qualified GP.
Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Experience
NHS experience.
Strong clinical skills managing a wide range of medical conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in managing chronic conditions and acute presentations.
Familiarity with clinical systems and digital tools for patient management.
