We are seeking a caring and compassionate support worker to assist a delightful and youthful 34-year-old man, "S", who is autistic and experiences occasional epileptic episodes (approximately once a year). Despite his speech impairment, S communicates effectively in his own way and enjoys engaging with the world around him, particularly through watching YouTube videos.
S requires assistance with his morning routine, including feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene. While he is able to walk short distances, he benefits greatly from patient guidance and gentle support. The ideal candidate will be someone who can not only assist with these tasks but also encourage and motivate S toward developing greater independence in his daily life.
The role also involves preparing and serving breakfast and lunch, as well as administering his medications as needed.
We are looking for someone who is genuinely loving, attentive, and patient—someone who can build a trusting relationship with S and bring joy and structure to his mornings. Working hours are from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

Duties include:
- Medication prompting/administering
- Personal grooming
- Eating and drinking assistance
- Moving and handling
- Other relevant duties as required
- Housekeeping

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
- We are looking for a person who is both loving and caring and who can motivate S to be capable of taking care of himself.
