Clinical Security Coordinator
We are looking for an experienced, customer‑oriented professional to provide comprehensive reception and security services at our NHS mental health and learning disability unit.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive reception and security service under the direction of the Security Manager.
* Assist in the security of the unit using a limited access system and monitor entry and egress points.
* Liaise with hospital managers, day‑to‑day security team and ensure a quality service is delivered.
* Oversee day‑to‑day management of the reception area and surrounding environment.
* Provide effective line management to all Clinical Security Assistants.
* Maintain security systems within the reception area.
* Lead in delivering high standards of customer care.
* Manage roster and scheduling.
* Liaise with Estates & Facilities and delegated contractors regarding work schedules.
* Conduct internal and external inspections of buildings and perimeter boundaries and perform internal auditing.
* Participate in delivery of Service Induction Programmes and induction training of Clinical Security staff.
* Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
* Collaborate with ward Security Nurses to develop the security role within the clinical area and conduct routine security audits.
* Coordinate with Estates & Facilities and external contractors for maintenance and security of the building and resources.
* Assist in the investigation of security matters or breaches.
* Handle telephone and personal enquiries in a confidential and appropriate manner.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven management and customer service skills.
* Previous experience within secure services or law enforcement is desirable, but flexibility and strong customer service skills are more important.
* Full training for the role will be provided.
* Willingness to develop knowledge and skills, openness to change and ability to work independently when required.
* Training qualification that enables assistance in training staff across the service is desirable.
* Applicants normally appointed to the bottom of the pay scale unless evidence of previous NHS experience in a similar role can be provided.
