Job Purpose
The Pre-Sales Technical team delivers technical solutions to new and existing customers, focusing on Networking, Cloud & Server Infrastructure, and Cyber Resilience, primarily using Microsoft 365 and Azure.
As an IT Pre-Sales Engineer, you will articulate our technology and product portfolio to business and technical users, understand client needs, demonstrate solutions, and tailor proposals to their requirements. You will work with potential clients to understand their needs, demonstrate our solutions, and tailor proposals accordingly.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the sales team to identify client needs and propose suitable solutions by attending remote and/or face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing customers.
* Use tooling and discovery workshops to determine client technical and business requirements and collate information before producing a solution.
* Create technical solutions in a professional manner within agreed timeframes, seeking guidance from technical teams on best practices.
* Present technical solutions to customers with professionalism and highlight cost savings and business benefits.
* Provide technical support during the sales process to Business Development Managers, Account Managers & Clients.
* Create configuration documentation based on proposed solutions, including network diagrams, statements of works and technical designs.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a technical role, preferably within an MSP environment (presales, support, project management or technical delivery).
* Solid understanding of M365, Azure, AVD, Windows Server and storage/hardware solutions; Networking (HPE, Meraki, SonicWALL); Cyber products (MS Defender, Bitdefender, Mimecast, Rocket Cyber).
* Experience scoping and designing technical solutions for SME businesses.
* Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Ability to cope under pressure and prioritise work.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
* Experience producing high-quality commercial proposals including design, solution overview and pricing.
