Are you a dynamic and talented podiatrist ready to enhance your skills and experience of podiology within the NHS? We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic podiatrist to join our Sirona team in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. You will be joining a supportive and friendly team with a proven track record of internal career promotion to senior roles. Care is delivered in a variety of settings including community clinics, GP practices, care/nursing homes and people’s homes.
Responsibilities
* Work as an autonomous practitioner managing a varied patient caseload including high risk/diabetes/wound care/biomechanics.
* Provide high standard of podiatric care to maintain tissue viability, mobility and independence for patients who are high risk or have an acute foot infection, through assessment, diagnosis and development of appropriate care plans.
* Plan and manage your own caseload with support from senior colleagues; include specialist care for patients with diabetes, rheumatoid and biomechanical problems; develop specialist treatment plans for patients with diverse clinical needs (neuropathies, vascular issues, tissue viability and wound management).
* Assess new and existing patients, apply clinical judgement to ensure access criteria are met, and signpost to alternative providers when required (referring to mentor/senior podiatrist for support).
* Screen high‑risk patients to monitor their condition, including neurological and vascular assessments.
* Undertake domiciliary visits across the region; refer complex cases to senior colleagues or other departments and discharge patients as appropriate per referral pathways.
* Communicate effectively with patients and carers about care plans and progress, overcoming potential communication barriers.
* Provide foot health education and advice to patients, relatives and carers in one‑to‑one and group sessions.
