About the Role As a key member of the engineering community, the Application Architect will design and develop robust software systems that support the critical mission capabilities of government and national security clients. Working as part of agile, empowered teams, you’ll engage closely with end-users and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality applications. This role combines both hands-on technical leadership and strategic thinking, giving you the opportunity to influence design decisions, mentor team members, and shape long-term technology solutions. This position is ideal for experienced engineers who are enthusiastic about DevOps, full lifecycle delivery, and modern architecture patterns. You’ll be empowered to explore new technologies and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges. Key Responsibilities Architect, design, and implement innovative solutions aligned to customer needs and technical constraints. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other architects and tech leads, to develop integrated and scalable systems. Champion security best practices and ensure secure design and implementation. Take ownership of technical delivery and ensure the quality and reliability of software products. Engage with stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to senior management. Mentor and support team members, encouraging technical growth and knowledge sharing. Contribute to continuous improvement, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence. Required Skills & Experience The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in many of the following: Designing secure, scalable, and innovative application solutions. Deep understanding of software security principles and secure coding practices. Technical leadership and accountability for team output. Strong collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal. Stakeholder management and expectation setting. Promoting quality assurance, software craftsmanship, and best practices. Hands-on development experience with modern programming languages (Java, C#, JavaScript, or similar). Experience with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM, SAFe, or Kanban. Driving technical innovation and continuous improvement within engineering teams. Desirable Skills & Certifications Cloud platform expertise and certifications (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP). Scaled Agile Framework certifications (e.g. SAFe, Scrum@Scale). Experience in full-stack architecture and design. Proven ability to mentor junior developers and nurture engineering talent.
